COLT
BISLEY

The Colt Bisley Single Action Army--is considered part of the Single Action Army production and was altered and produced for the target shooting market in England. It did well there, but, even more were sold in the United States. It was manufactured from 1894 through 1915 with the total production of just the Bisleys being 44,350, not including and additional 976 in the Flattop Target Model. This model is a .****caliber and has a five and a half inch barrel. The standard revolver, I say that because a good many of these were customized, had a casehardened frame and hammer with the remainder being blued. The standard grips were of hard rubber with rampant Colt decor, which this one has. The Bisleys were easily identified by there distinctive grip and hammer profile. It's name "Bisley" was derived from a shooting range in England, where shooting matches have been held since the nineteenth century
